    Two questions:

1:Why doesn't the text suggestion box, which helps you type faster, come up in certain fields? For instance, when filling.out the subject field for this thread word suggestions weren't displayed.

2:When I'm writing an email, if I want to select a block of text to copy or delete I can only select all. I don't have this problem when selecting bits of text to copy on a webpage, only when I'm actively editing text.

    Cheers fellas and girls!

You should be able to change that in settings/keyboard.

No, it's not there. Anyways, text selection is my main problem. For instance if I'm quoting a post in a forum and I want to delete a large portion of the quoted text to emphasise the part I'm responding to then I have to delete the text letter by letter. Why does the select tool not work when I'm editing text?

    Found it.

Still can't select text while editing, however. It lets me select all, but that's it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, that would be one of my very few complaints with Android so far is the copy/paste function doesn't work everywhere.

Any word on whether Froyo fixes this problem? It should be simple...

I've also found this an irritating omission in android. The copy selector is perfect for moving the cursor round and selecting text in a browser, and would be perfect in a text / search field.

I wonder if there's some kind of patent issue that prevents it - its the kinda thing Apple would patent and prevent others from implementing.
