Since I got an automatic update for 2.1 on my HTC Legend last week, it is now reversing the whole of each thread for text messages. that is it shows the oldest messages first, and i have to scroll through all the messages on that thread to read the new one i have just received. some of these threads are 100's of messages. and i need to keep some of the info on them etc so don't want to delete whole threads. Before the update it showed the newest message first and was great. can't find anyway to change a setting for this. Any ideas?

I was just about to post a new thread with the same problem. Here's all the info I can give as per the instructions in the sticky!

    1. HTC Legend
    2. Firmware: v2.1-update1
    3. Baseband version: 47.39.35.09U_7.08.35.21
    4. Kernal: v2.6.29-5f084974 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
    5. Build number: 2.05.161.1 CL191838 release-keys
    6. Carrier: Vodafone
    7. Country: UK

Problem: When opening my SMS inbox and selecting one of my contacts, instead of it automatically going to the newest message at the bottom of the list, it just does nothing. I have to manually scroll down to the end of the list which can take ages with some contacts but previously it would go to the newest message itself. Any help?

    Thanks!

    Ive got the same problem.

Started a similar thread a while back, and the guys that commented over there said that a patch will be released soon.

Otherwise, try installing 'Handcent SMS' from the market. It fills a gap until its patched. I tried it, its much more customisable than the original 'Messages', and does a good job. I dont really like it though... :/

I agree. Handcent SMS is a great app for managing my SMS msgs! I'm really pleased with it so far! Very customizable as the previous user said!

Jesus... Are you all really that lazy to read other's suggestions? You just read the name of topic and then post your reply?
Problem is solved long time ago - Handcent SMS app. Works better, looks better, more personalizations, and last but not least - no issues with the listing of threads (newes - in the bottom).
