Hey everybody. Last night my S7 updated the performed a system update. Now when I try to send a text message it looks like it freezes. The little "loading wheel" stays beside the message, and in the list of conversations it shows sending. Then maybe 30-60 seconds later I get a notification that sending failed but so far everyone I've texted has responded. It's just annoying that I'm not sure that all messages are going through. Can anyone help me with this?

Try clearing cache for you messaging app, that may help. Settings/apps/find your app/clear cache.

And if that doesn't work install Textra as your messaging app.

Do try another app and see if that makes a difference. Textra is really nice. If it works then you're all set!

    What are you using now?

I just downloaded and tried Textra. It sends the messages, but I'm still getting a notification about 20-30 seconds later that says sending failed.

    Well. That's odd.

What update did you get last night (I don't your same phone) and what carrier are you using? Try a full system cache clear and if that doesn't fix it it's either a bug in the update or maybe a carrier issue of some sort.

Here are the instructions for the S7.

It updated to 7.0. The system cache clear was the first thing I tried, then I even did a full reset on my phone. It must just be a bug in the update. I hope it's not a carrier issue, I have Straight Talk and I don't like dealing with customer service. Do you know of a way to report bugs like this.

I'm out of ideas, hopefully someone else can think of something clever.

Look through the Google and S7 forums, see if it's been mentioned at all?

I believe it is an update problem also. My wife started having problems with texts (sending and receiving) and since she uses texting almost exclusively I tried everything from clearing the cache to doing a hard reset on her phone. We use Virgin Mobile and at first I thought it might just be an intermittent connection issue. I ended buying an S8 for her. Our two sons also have S7 phones and are experiencing problems too. Luckily they don't use texting much. I searched through everything I could think of (a few weeks ago when it started) and could not find a similar problem. This is the first time I have seen anyone with the same issue. Like I said I did a hard reset (factory reset) on the phone wiping all of her info and that did not solve the problem. So pretty sure it has to do with the update. Wish I could be of more help. Just hoping they will issue an update that will fix the problem.

I think it may be possible to change back to an earlier version of the software, but I don't know for sure if that would work or even how to do that.
