Help Text Notifications (Huawei Ascend)

Hello! Well for some reason yesterday I stopped receiving text notifications for only one specific contact. I feel like I've searched everywhere and can't find a solution. Another thing I noticed was that this contacts entire thread had been deleted from Handscent SMS, however if I manually entered the contact's number and sent a text the thread would be restored but not listed. I can see the messages if I manually check in the Messages section, but I prefer Handscent so much more. Also, the lack of a notification is very annoying as well.

If anyone had any helpful advice or maybe even a solution to my problem it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all contributions!

Check that person's contact info. If you have the number set as "home", change it to "mobile". That should fix your problem. ;-)

Hmm, I'll provide a little bit more information. Up until the other day I was receiving messages perfectly fine from this contact. I'm not sure if a setting somehow got changed while the phone was in my pocket or what.

Also, I have two apps that show my text messages. The stock Messenger which comes with the phone and Handscent SMS. I explained in the original post that Handscent does not even listen the contacts thread but if I enter the number and send a message the entire thread pops up but will not be listed.

I can only see the contacts messages in the Messenger service but even that does not show notifications. All my other contacts work perfectly, just this one.

As always, any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I ditched all aftermarket SMS apps. I had problems with all. Handcent was the worst, I wouldnt just get a duplicate of a message I would get like 5-6 dupilcates of the same message. Its probably Handcent. And a buddy of mine had GOSMS eat his entire contacts list.

If there is only a problem with this one contact, it seems logical that the problem is coming from their end, not yours.

Hmm, it can't just be Handcent because even though I receive the text message in my "Messaging" even that does not give me any sort of notification.

Hmm, I thought about it being a problem on the contacts end but what in the world could it be? I couldn't really think of any realistic situation that could cause that.

I know this doesn't help, but for the last several days I have stopped receiving any sort of notifications for ALL messages. No sound, no icon in the notification bar, nothing... The only way I know if I have a new message, is by opening my message app. And usually by then it's too late to respond. I'm sure it's got something to do with the recent changes I've made. I'll post back once I figure out what's going on.
