Texting notification noise

Hey how can I make it so my eris makes no noise when receiving a text just vibrates?

Just texts, or all notifications? If you want all your notifications to be silent, set your "notifications" to vibrate. If you just want texts (and no other notifications) to be silent, you will have to create a notification sound that doesnt make any noise and set your text messages to that. Make sure you also set your you phone to always vibrate.

I was going search around to download a "silent ringtone" for that purpose. But it can be done with the device itself, is that what you mean?

That would be the easiest way to do it ... I would think.
