I have a pro/paid Textra account and my wife uses the ad supported version. A couple of weeks ago I moved us from GS9's to Pixel 6's. We both use Nova as our launchers. She doesn't get any SMS notifications when Textra is the default. Move the default to Google Messages and notifications are fine. I've scoured the settings but find nothing obvious. My notifications are fine. Any clues??
