The $100 IR without 2 yr upgrade eligibility..?..RS or BB..

Can anyone confirm that the $100 Instant rebate will or won't be given to those of us without the 2 yr eligibility?
I am a couple of months shy of my full upgrade date. I am willing to pay an extra $75 for the Evo, but I don't want to spend an extra $175!
I was on the phone with my local Radio Shack today and they couldn't tell me for sure one way or another. They want me to stop by tomorrow so that they can call the district mgr. to confirm.
I apologize if this has been answered before, but I have not been able to find a definitive answer.
I was hoping someone else had done this and knew for sure.
Thanx,
Ron

No the instant rebate is just like the mail in rebate.. It is only for a 2 year agreement with eligibility. At least it always has been. Maybe they are changing for this launch but I doubt it

I called in today...

I am one year away from a full upgrade. I was told that I will get my $75 upgrade credit & the $100 MIR if I pay the full $450 retail price with Sprint.

Huh.. Good to know that it is good for the one year $75 upgrades too.

I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks and I finally decided to register after xSD's post got me thinking...Anyways, I'm about 3 months away from my 2 year upgrade, but I'm on sprint premier and every other phone has the $150 discount when looking to upgrade. Can anyone confirm that I will be able to get this phone for $199.99 at best buy assuming its $150 upgrade discount + $100 MIB?

Confirmed - I'm in the same boat and argued with several Sprint reps to no avail.

These are conflicting reports aren't they?
If xSD is right, can we order from Sprint right now?

I did not mention anything about pre-ordering from Sprint . Don't know where you got that from.

I called in to see if those of us who are NOT getting the phone for 199.99 are still eligible for the 100 MIR, which the rep told me I was/can do when I buy the phone from a Sprint store on June 4th. So the once 450 phone is now 350 with a MIR.

No, if you're a Sprint PREMIER Customer, you are eligible for a FULL UPGRADE at ONE year, not two. That's one of the perks of being a Premier customer. I forget the exact criteria for qualifying but it should be something like having been with Sprint for 10 years OR having monthly bill greater than something like $80 or $100 or something. It's on Sprint's site.

10 years or having an everything data plan or higher.

I didn't say that you did. But since you stated that Sprint would be giving the MIRs to us, I was curious if we could order right now.
Thanx for following up with more info!

So, like many of you I have also been trying to get my upgrade eligibility date moved up a bit. I'm not due for an upgrade until July, and they aren't budging on making us stick to our eligibility dates. I've talked to a few representatives on different dates, each gave me slightly different information regarding when I could actually use my upgrade. Some said that if I talked to account services, they may be able to change it up to 2 weeks before, some said 2 whole months before. But ultimately, they've each said that they no longer have the power to change the upgrade eligibility date. And none gave me an explanation as to why they couldn't throw a bone to a loyal customer, until today.

Today I spoke with a rep that has been with the company for about 10 years. After explaining my situation and trying to find a back door somewhere (tried to get into the Premiere program since I had a 39.99 plan + a 30.00 Blackberry data pack for a total of 69.99 for 1.5 years....but no dice), she explained that they are not allowed to change customers' eligibility dates because of the exclusive contract with HTC. Apparently, allowing their customers to break their contracts is a direct contradiction to their contract with HTC.

But since I have been planning on adding my wife and mother to my account, I'll be able to get the Evo at the reduced price any way. I just have to wait for the mail in rebate to come in before I can swap my phone number to the Evo.
