The first onscreen keyboard

    Flipping around on some sites last night, I stumbled upon...

    Now, it doesn't work exactly as you would expect, but it's definitely an improvement for using the G1 with a single hand.

    I did not have anything to do with the development of this application. You can find the application's page here.

    You can download the .apk file here.

    Those of you like me that are curious about how it was done (source code,) here you go.

    downloaded an installed ... problem is still with tiny keys.. and almost half of the screen is unused .... Keys could be twice their size and laid out in a non-qwerty style and me a better fit for our finger to touch each letter ...

    Did you create this in a Mac environment? I have a problem with running a sample program in it.
    Newbee at this.

    what is the point of this app, seriously? its not like you can use it if you want to text someone back and it is SO HARD to use without a stylus!!!!:thinking:

    The source is available, so I'll make a new build later tonight with bigger keys. I think the real issue is that buttons in any android application need to be pressed pretty close to the center of the button to fire right.

    Do you know of an onscreen keyboard that can be used in phone mode to make it easier to thread your way through phone-tree hell? Thanks.
