The Times Offer

My 92 year old Dad, who lives in the UK, is thinking of taking up the Times newspaper offer of a free Nexus 7 if he subscribes for 18 months. Has anyone on here done this? Is the N7 the same as a standard one or have they alerted it in any way? Apart from loading the newspaper on it of course!

I just checked the offer (I'm in the US) and it is the 2013 version. As has been mentioned, they probably have not altered it in anyway as it would be cost prohibitive.
