Thought I loved me Hero for the past 3 weeks. Even talked others into buying one. A friend at work bought the new Motorola Blur, comes with Android 1.5. EGAST! My Hero is shit. There has to be something wrong with the Sprint/HTC versions of this phone for it to be so laggy/slow. They Moto Blur was extremely quick and responsive. I WONT wait around for HTC to fix this problem. This is garbage.

I didnt want to jump on the bandwagon, but with so many people complaining... there has to be something wrong with this phone.

Anyhow, you need to head over to XDA and read up on rooting and the other 2 ROMs that are available. I even wrote a little piece on stock rom app removal as well.

My Hero is very snappy, quite awesome actually and I'm totally happy with it.

My only beef is that I know Android 2.1 is lurking out there somewhere, the GSM girls won't hand over a decent kernel for the CDMA people to have a better ROM (mainly due to jealously, I can smell it) but other than that. It's a great phone.

Haha... good posts and light humor... so much better than other similar threads. Anyway, don't base judgement only on what you read here. Many come here because they have problems, but there are many more who don't have them too and remain silent, present posting excluded...

You have 30 days to try it out for yourself and can make your own decision... :)

Happy trails...
