According to this quote from the Engadet article:
Garmin's official blog says that it will be expanding its mobile application handset development by offering navigation and other applications through "certain consumer application stores." According to DigiTimes, that means Apple's iTunes App Store and RIM's App World.
So it seems like Asus is the only one that can include the Garmin navigation software on its Android devices. But if I'm reading this correctly, Garmin is still free to create and update its navagation app for Android and other platforms.

Maybe, just maybe... we could see Garmin Mobile for Android available early next year perhaps?
