Root Things needed in 'Best ROM'

We have been flooded with many Custom ROM's in last couple of Months........But still i think the major constraint coming is in the RAM utilization..... There are many Widgets or Apps which are free and are usually in every1's Basked should be part of the Custom Rom....

1. All are feed up with the Custom Dialer but we can still have Go Dialer or any other which is free.....
2. We can have a Replacement of Clock Widget.
3. Stock SMS app can be replaced with Other say 'Handcent'

So if these are built in Custom rom there would not be double applications of same stock and other using the RAM.

The Keyboard should also be replaced with the Free available ones !!!


I am not sure with the Technical aspects but i think if the ROM comes with all this ...........That should be the Best !!

What you just pointed out can be accomplished by just installing the required apps.. There's no need to create a full fledged ROM for things like this..
IMO, a best rom should have
1) CRT Animation FTW!!
2) Custom Kernel like that of CM7 or Darky or MIUI
3) overclocking support

That can be done after u flash the rom too.See I may not like what u asking to add to a rom because everyone has a different taste.U like handcent but I say I like stock or say some other one.So good practice is to build a rom as like AOSP n afterwards people can modify according to their taste.So rom available here are good one n without src best one.

like .... Dialer, Stock Messaging app... Google Framework...

May be some one can Say how could i reduce Ram Usage......

If i use a clock it takes up 15 MB.... One alternate Keyboard and it take 12MB

So please let me know i ll be greatful to you all guys

1) cudn't find stock keyboard app so couldn't del it
2) messaging app tried to replace with some but signed them n put but failure don't know y tried 2 apps
3) Clock widget... well didn't think about it thanks

Have u tried smart keyboard?i m using smart keyboard pro n it just takes 5-6.5 mb ram...n about stock dialer I have learned that there is no separate apk for that(dialer,log,contacts all are linked together too) n it can not be completely replaced.if u want to replace it then new dialer has to be integrated in system too.

smart keyboard is much like htc keyboard,using since 2 months n right now also it's taking 6.4mb of ram...if u wanna try i can send u apk.
n ya all others will consume much ram,swype also take 15-16mb...that's y moved to smart keyboard as I like htc like keyboard.
