I use my s7 with a very thin spigen clear case and I want to use my s7 without a case, I don't really drop my phones often but do manage to always get a scratch. I was going to order a D brand skin for the back and camera lens in a black matte color and was wondering would this be ok for protecting against scratches? I would be using a glass screen protector on the front and I have insurance on the phone. Would this set up work?

The dbrand skin is great at preventing scratches. No drop protection obviously.

I actually got a Samsung leather case/skin. Well it's thinner than a case but thicker and softer than a skin. It seems great for protecting the body and edges from scratches and dents.

Very interested in where you got it and what it looks like?

Actually got it in my carrier's own store. They also sell accessories. Although I'm not in the US so that may not help at all. It's expect it to be available in the Samsung online store though.

It's a bit expensive at $30, but it does feel close enough to leather I think (if it's not genuine, I'm not good with such things). It also provides good help and is thick and soft enough to provide some protection from falls on back or on the corners.

As for scratches, it may just be with your handling or where you put your phone, or what occupies your pockets with it. I never used screen protectors on my phones (Galaxy S, S3 mini, Note 2, then the 7 edge). None has a scratch on the screen yet.

Will it add grip to the phone, because the glass on this phone is so freaking slippery 0_0.

Yes it will. Certain skins have greater friction than others, but all will improve the grip.

dBrand skins work well against scratches and for adding more grip but you have to have a hairdryer to apply them correctly. Aside from that I recommend them highly.
