    Hi All

Joined the forum as I am seriously considering moving from my much loved iPhone to the world of Android and the Galaxy S2.

Scared about possibly moving as no experience of Android before.

Am I doing the right thing? :)

Looking forward to many hours trawling the forum pages.

    Welcome to Android Forums, Paul.

It's hard to say if you are doing the right thing. Since this is an Androidcentric site, you are going to get a lot of proponents of android telling you to go for it. The worst thing for Android, however is to have unhappy users.

The forums are loaded with opinion, but only you can decide what's right for you. I will say that the Android experience is widely varied from the most basic phone and app use (similar to a non-jailbroken iPhone) to a full fledged geek-o-rama with developing your own custom version. Most people are in the middle and seem to be pleased overall.

The biggest blunder, IMHO that iPhone users do when looking at Android handsets is to go too cheap. A $49.00 phone is just not going to compare to a $500.00 model. The Samsung Galaxy S2 should outpace the iPhone in most respects.

The second biggest blunder people make is to assume that a must-have app is available on Android. If you absolutely require app X,Y and Z and there are only versions of X and Z available, then you will be ultimately frustrated. A little homework is always advisable.

Thanks all for the warm welcome - think android is the way to go. Im a little concerned about the battery life of the S2, but then again, my iphone only lasts a day.

    Thanks once again -
