I am looking to make the move from Sprint to Verizon ASAP due to Sprint service issues in my area. I do have a few questions for the forum.

First off, I will be moving from the Sprint Epic to a VZ phone. Epic is an amazing phone. I love everything about it, except for the carrier. Have been really struggling with what VZ phone to go to. Here is how I landed at the Incredible:

Fascinate - hate Bing, reported GPS issues, doesn't feel as solid as my Epic
X - rather big, screen doesn't pop like Galaxy S phones or the Incredible
Continuum - not super crazy about the narrow screen, hate Bing
    HTC Merge - reportedly delayed
HTC Inc HD - reportedly delayed

Incredible - solid feel, screen quality pretty comparable to my Epic, Sense UI, great size, great reviews.

So, I am thinking of picking up an Incredible for $219 for a 1 year contract. This gives me a great phone and allows me to move to one of the newer phones in a year, rather than waiting 2 years. Kind of a stop gap strategy until the Merge and Inc HD are out next year.

    Any thoughts on this strategy?

And, will the Inc come with 2.1 or 2.2 out of the box?

    Thanks for any advice.

If you are pressed for time (to make the switch to VZW) and want the Incredible and you want to keep your upgrade options to a year, then I think this is the a good course to take.

I am a "Factory/Corporate guy" and do not really investigate other purchase options (Best Buy, Amazon, etc...) so I cannot give you any advice on those options, but I would do a little investigation on those first.

I am sure people with much more knowledge of those options will chime in soon!

    Good Luck!

A new Inc will have 2.2 out of the box.

I bought mine as an upgrade with Best Buy for $200 instant. At the time Verizon stores were $300 up front then a $100 mail-in rebate. Everything went perfect at Best Buy. I always recommend shopping around at one of those places and get the best price. Make sure the sales person knows what theyre talking about though ;)

Pretty sure wirefly is offering the Inc for free and Amazon for $.01. I would check out them and some other retailers before spending $200 at Verizon. Just my $.02. Good luck :)

I just got my Inc from wirefly.com and with a 2 year contract upgrade, it's only $50! Only catch is that you cannot modify (downgrade) the contract within 181 days. No biggie for me since I got the right plan so it's all good.

Wirefly charges nothing with a new contract too. Not sure if 1 year and 2 year contracts differ.

    Hope this helps!

Where are you getting your information from? Not that I doubt you at all, just curious what's being said and where it is coming from. I can't find anything out about it other than the Nov. 23rd crap. I would love to see pictures and a review of the HD somewhere.
