If you have apps backed up to your sd card, you can remove your card and insert into someone elses phone and install free and paid apps to their phone. I have a buddy who just got a new eris and he wanted a new keyboard other than stock. I switched cards with him and installed swype lite and better keyboard on his phone. All worked flawlessly. I had these apps backed up to my sd by using MY BACKUP. But with that being said, donate to the developers please. I always try to donate when possible.

This is an odd post. Rather conflicting. Passing on paid apps but donate?

unfortunately the android platform is...not that good on protecting apps.
its been brought up on a number of podcast i`ve listened to. its because, once the app is downloaded (after its paid for), the file is just sitting there losely on the phone (if you have a file explorer u can see it). so if you were to go to a site like 4shared or even google! if u type .apk you`ll get over 5k apps to download entirely for free. but...the why i look at it in my f`d up mine is, its linux based...its google...EVERYTHING SHOULD BE FREE! :)
but...support your local android (hacker) developer :)

    Computer Tech.
Just buy the app. These developers work hard to develop them

It's ridiculously easy to find hundreds of paid Android apps available for free on the torrent sites and elsewhere ... just as it is for all other major computing platforms.

But I agree -- pirating a smartphone app that just costs a buck or two and that keeps a small business afloat isn't terribly admirable.

Something tells me that if you made one, you would want to be reimbursed for your time, effort, etc. Especially if you were continuing to support the application. Just put yourselves in their shoes...

Not to mention, most times it's a freaking dollar?!?!?!

I know that you DO make apps and people like you aren't multi-million dollar corporations trying to pinch a penny out of someone when possible. A buck or two is small to ask and I'll pay it any day if I like the app. I remember that many winmo apps were $30 and above for ones that don't do half as much as the free ones in the Android MP.

I'm perfectly happy to pay a buck or two for an app I find useful.

  11. Same here. I am always surprised to see so many free apps in Market. Some have ads, but many do not.

Im curious, you are asking us to donate, why didn't you just have your friend donate to get the app(s)?
