Well I have been very happy with my rooted Hero for the last few months. Occasionally someone will send me a YouTube video and I try to play it and it get a yellow triangle with the message in the title of this thread. At the time it was one video and I figured there was something wrong with it. But today I wanted to see a video and I kept getting this error message. I tried different sources and and still get the same message. Now I'm realizing that it won't play ANY YouTube................

    Any thoughts on this guys???

Thanks for your help as usual............

    Lisa

He means to flash a new Rom, time for a new one, you should try the AOSP GB 2.3.4

There is no Flash in CyanogenMod ROMS is there? I thought Flash only worked in Sense UI ROMS.

There was a Flash Lite 4.0 .apk, but I was not sure if it worked with the Sprint HTC Hero. Oh well.

You tube works excellently in CyanogenMod 7. Vimeo also works excellently as well as most other video services.

Within the web browser? It might be using HTML5 video.

Any chance you can take a screenshot of those two things? I am interested.

Probably once I get home today. There is no way I can do it from work though. I'm lucky to be able to use the forum at my job. :/

Thanks, KitsapAndroid. I appreciate your efforts on that.

Quickly off topic, has anyone noticed that the drop down suggestion box in a browser based Google search now makes all your previous search terms purple? Those search terms used to be black up until two days ago. I guess Google is messing with the mobile Google search site. The purple is sort of jarring to see at first, but useful in the long run in differentiating between suggestions and previously used search times.

Glad I looked at the screenshots. That triple back flip video was sweet as hell.

Thanks for the screenshots, man. Those are the YouTube and Vimeo mobile websites that I thought you were looking at.

They do not use Flash. Basically, the video files are a combination of mobile quality .mp4 files with HTML5 that stream to your handset.
