Thought I'd share my defect.

I thought I was a lucky one as my 7 didn't have any of the normal defects. After a day of use my screen is shot. Never dropped or anything and kept in a case but the below is how it looks. If only Google would get back to me, it's been five days.

This is most definitely a warranty problem. I'd get in touch with whomever you purchased it from and get a replacement.

Call them, I haven't heard of anyone getting a response to an email inquiry. You should definitely get a warranty replacement for that.

Ah every time I tried to call them the wait was too long. I did finally get a response this morning and have the replacement on the way. I am concerned that they will give me a hard time with this because it is a screen issue which they could try to pin on me. I don't know what Google's limited track record for this stuff is like. I guess we will find out.

I haven't heard of anyone else getting a hard time and I have seen folks exchanging for issues far less serious. Hopefully you will have a replacement in hand soon.:)

i actuiailly did i called and steve (just giving a name) said to email him when funds were sortedand he would set me up with a good one we got the funds sorted i emailed him and 5 minutes later a reply was in my inbox

gthe replacement should be getting here today by the way :D

that looks like a single contact to the display array matrix that went bad so unless you cracked the display, that is definitely an internal defect.

Yeah after it happened I went over it with a flashlight and didn't find any cracks. I received shipping confirmation for my replacement so fingers crossed it is a good one.

I'll wrap this story up by saying thus far the replacement unit has been great. Not even any screen lift at least that I can notice. The pending charge on my credit card is gone so it appears all is well.

Nope.
You input your phone number, name and a brief description of the issue.
They call within a minute, and unlike some firms use of callback features, you are not dumped into a hold queue.
A human picks up and off you go.

It USED to be hard to get googles attention, but lately they have been bending over backwards to step up their game and compete directly with the likes of Amazon.
