Am I the only one who doesn't wish to moan about Adobe Flash player? At long last I can watch BBC News Channel and sound and audio sync. Never happened before so I am now glad it does.

    No problems for me either.

However, unrooted Desire users may well have a right to complain at the large installation size.

Yes I know. Probably make them think about rooting as this will probably happen again with other updates.

Yes, that may well happen. I have to say rooting was the best thing I ever did to my phone.

Me too. Wouldn't have had a clue what to do without help from folk on this forum. Rooting is daunting before you try it but afterwards you wonder why you didn't do it earlier.

I'm still to root. I still haven't had the balls.

Understandable, Jay. Just read all the guides and font be afraid to ask.
I think the problem so many people have they root without knowing fully what they are doing. I managed to root fine, it was some other stuff (such as flashing a recovery image) I got stuck on. The problem was simply fixed if I read the provided guides. I also asked for help and the regulars straightened me out fine! I personally think its not difficult at all. But hindsight is a wonderful thing I suppose :p! Good luck!

I rooted and installed my first custom rom today, its actually not too bad as long as you follow guides, having no problems as of yet apart form the contacts not backing up and restoring how I wanted but that's more Googles/Facebooks problem. Also installed more apps then I had before and thanks to Apps2SD+ I am still left with a nice amount of space :)

Also on topic the memory in the desire is actually shocking when you think about it, don't know what HTC were thinking tbh.

I shall root mine in the next week. I have a 16GB class 10 SD card ordered so I will have lots of space for apps.

I think HTC gave the desire low memory to make their future phones more attractive. After all a desire with the memory of a Titan would be all anyone needs even now. So they didn't want to make the desire better than it had to be. Cynical but that's how these companies work.
