ive used it for years but its got so spammy n bloated, ive lost love for the Go devs.
id rather pay for an app thats just as customisable.

    which is best?
huge font is a MUST for me if i dont have my glasses and i like a pop-up window (with adjustable font size too)
    theyre my main requirements.

i dont care about themes, prefer to use my own background and font style/colour.
    thoughts?
    cheers.

p.s ive heard of handcent and chomp but theyre like as old as Go lol. is there anything more "next gen'"?

for example i went from Go Launcher to Nova P not long ago and havent looked back :)

The only other one I can think of off hand is Pansi. It's not as customisable as the Go/Handcent etc, but it does have additional themes and you can change the font size (I think).

I don't think there are many others tbh

i searched around for a 'next gen' sms app when I ditched gosms and couldn't find anything. the alternatives seem to be handcent, chomp or pansi. Really not a fan of handcent, pansi didn't run that well for me (jerky scrolling etc) so I settled on chomp and paid to stop the ads. Its nice and much less bloated than gosms. Tbh I'd be happy with the inbuilt one its just I want emoticons that work with the iphone so I need a 3rd party app. You'll just have to run a few free trials to see which you prefer.

Defo interested to hear of any new alternatives to the usual though so I'll keep an eye on this thread!

    thanks peeps.
    ill give some a try.
ill prob end up stickin with Go Sms..... maybe look for a much older version. it hasnt exactly gained many features over the years... just spam.
i like how it has the option to still work with stock sms app disabled or uninstalled... :)
