    Hello...

Had to clean out a whole bunch of apps from my phone and now in the process of reinstalling "fresh" to start over. As I was reinstalling apps from the market, I was also refreshing Titanium Backup and noticed that for many of my apps, the latest backup date way precedes the "data changed" date. MAKES SENSE...I understand why...if the version hasn't been updated in a while then the app isn't backup up often (depending upon your schedule/settings) but the data is constantly updated. But here is my question.

I know I can choose to restore JUST an app, JUST its data or BOTH but is there a way to BACKUP just the DATA of an app?? Or do I simply force a backup using batch mode and/or for individual apps to backup the DATA of an app that hasn't changed??

    THANKS!!

I don't believe there's a way to separate them out when backing up, but if you pay for titanium backup, you should be able to create multiple backups (Read as, restore one version of an apps, then restore data from a different backup). Is that at all helpful?

Yes...understood. One other question...since you are privy to my issue with deleting the .android_secure folder and uninstalling all my SD card apps, upon REINSTALLING the apps that I want from the Market, is there any reason to FORCE a backup of the apps using Titanium. Put a different way, say I had Dolphin Browser installed on my SD card. I uninstalled that app and data and deleted any "remnant" from my card and .android_secure. I then reinstalled Dolphin, fresh and clean, HOWEVER, I have backups of the "old dirty" app and data with Titanium. My reinstall did NOT trigger a backup of the app because the version is the same as I was previously using. Do I need to force a backup with Titanium to ensure a "clean fresh" backup??

Good question. It couldn't hurt. More than likely, if it always backed up successfully, there's probably nothing wrong with it. Issues with .android_secure probably wouldn't affect titanium backup, but just to be safe, why not. It's more app data that can cause issues, but that wouldn't really be related to .android_secure, anyway.

All these questions about the data is based upon my concern and desire to "get rid" of whatever was causing me the problems. I know understand that any corruption with the .android_secure is very likely totally UNRELATED to the data stored with Titanium. Is was the data IN THAT DIRECTORY that was possibly banged up.

BTW, so far so good with phone since the wipe (of the directory...NOT of the entire phone)!!:D:D

Yeah, I have a feeling that'll clear up the issue. Let me know how it goes as you continue to use the phone.
