How come there are certain apps that will not allow me to restore even though I have a valid backup for it. For example I have the HTC_IME with a valid backup but when I click in within TB my only option is to delete the backup file, no restore available. There are other apps like that as well.

I've seen this happen on apps that are included as system apps with some ROMs... Not sure of the reason or the fix sorry. But those are the ones I have seen this happen with.

Are you sure it's an App+Data backup as opposed to just a data backup? If it's just a data backup of the app and the app isn't installed, then it won't let you restore the data.
