    Hello,

I have a LG G3 D855 with android 5.0 installed on it. I get an error of "you phone isn't registered yet" which seems no support forum / department can handle and help me solve (phone is new but I can't bring it back for replacement since I bought it abroad).

I want to install Marshmallow 6.0 using this guide: http://www.android.gs/manually-update-lg-g3-to-android-6-0-using-marshmallow-kdz-and-flash-tool/

But I would like to make sure, since it isn't mentioned, that I don't need to manually upgrade to any other Android version other than the 5.0 that my phone comes with. Is it alright to manually update to 6.0 straight from 5.0?

    Thank you for your help.

    Ilya

To my knowledge a kdz is a full wipe/install so you shouldn't matter what you're on before hand as every partition is replaced.

To ensure you're using the correct kdz, use this - http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/

If you enter your IMEI, it will give you the correct download for your device.

Hello and thank you for the Reply !

On your link, I inserted my IMEI and it seems like he cannot find anything. Why would that be?

    Odd, it's normally pretty good.

Was it bought network unlocked? If no, what network and country was it bought in?

Apologies for the slight delay in responding, been at work.

You can filter by country too: http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=Thailand

I'm slightly dubious about the buyer being listed as "AIS_16G" for most of them. Do you know if there were 2 variants with different size internal memory?

Looking here: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g3-6294.php the D855 is actually listed as the EU variant so I wonder if one of the generic European versions would work?

When you head to settings, about phone, is D855 the exact model number? There's nothing else after it?

Sorry for the additional questions, I just don't want to point you in the wrong direction.
