It would be pretty sweet if by the 4th there was already a safe and fairly easy way to root the phone.

Nascar, you're running a lap off my phone ;P

Eeek, he says he is able to run Froyo too! I'm excited, hopefully we won't have to wait long now =D

No reason not to. hopefully sprint doesn't patch it in an update for release.

They already have a custom Froyo ROM running on it (partially). That is pretty impressive.

Here are details and screenshots of the Froyo custom ROM they have running - LINK

That's amazing that they already have a Froyo ROM ready. Would it be safe to assume these guys will do another ROM with Sense UI added later?

I wonder who will release their method first: Toast or the other group who first posted about it? They said that they were having problems getting it to stick after a reboot, but they also said they were making an autoroot app to run right from the phone. Should be an interesting outcome either way!

    Ahahaha! I hate that app.

The Froyo update they have pushed together doesn't support 4G yet and has some other glitches, so I might either wait or help out getting everything up and running.

I'm just excited to get all the crummy sprint apps off my phone and put free WiFi hotspot applications on it!

Merged another thread from the main Evo board onto this board and this topic, so that may be why some people basically are saying the same thing :)

What you guys think SprintTV and Sprint NAv are crap?? I actually like those two. Sprint Nav i can do without since i will have google maps but what app will be able to replace Sprint tv?

I personally would keep Sprint TV incase, but get rid of Sprint Nav and definitely the Nascar app.
