Yes. I don't believe they ported sense UI over. In any case with the stock phone you can turn off sense UI which is pretty cool.

Yep. It's got a ways to go, as the phone is in roaming only mode, and 4G doesn't work yet. But, we should be seeing great things in the coming months from those guys.

i'm in a 3g only market with no plans of the 4g build out so i could go without that. now the roaming thing could be a big problem.

I don't think that's entirely correct. It seems you can turn off Sense UI for the home pages (i.e. no big clock, no Sense launcher, etc.) but the Sense messaging and photo UI remain. It's not turning off Sense so much as it is turning off Sense for your home page.

Personal preference. I like using stock Android because then I have the freedom to change what I want. Sense restricts the changes I can make, unless I download .apk files, and that can be time consuming, depending on what file I want.

I don't "hate" sense ui. It's very nice, but, when comparing the sense ui to the vanilla 2.1 android rom I'm running on my hero, I'm getting much better battery life. Plus, vanilla android seems to run smoother, as it's taking up less memory.
