I know there have been similar threads, but I wasn't satisfied with the answers.

I had my contacts from my old AT&T phone transferred to my Hero. Then the "Too many contacts deletes" message showed up. I know I can just turn off the contacts sync function, but I want an easy way to transfer my contacts if/when I get a new phone.

Is there any way I can copy the contacts on my phone to google contacts?

Right now I have all the people I've ever emailed in my google contacts and all my phone numbers in my Hero.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its because there are to many differences between your Gmail and phone contact list, delete on of these lists completly and re sync.

This may sound stupid, but what do you mean by "differences"?

It means that the contact database on google has less or more contacts than the database on the phone, the sync errors if the 2 databases have more than "x" amount more or less than the other.
