I have seen a couple of Applications that now allow you to send texts via a website and it sends out the text messages via the application you install on your phone. Has anyone tried any of these and whats your experience with them?

    MightyText

    BrowserTexting

You can send text messages through the Google Voice website (and also through Gmail chat). On your phone, you send text messages through the app and it uses data (not your provider's text messages). As long as you have data, no fee.

It's not exactly what the OP is asking for but you can certainly send/receive SMS via the GV web site. Any internet connected PC works.

Unless you're subject to data roaming fees.

I can recommend BrowserTexting. I've tried almost every desktop texting solution (hard-wired, wi-fi, bluetooth), and MightyText. None of them can match BrowsterTexting in ease of use, stability and speed.
