I am wondering if anybody else is having this problem, the top of the screen right below the notifications pull down menu, does not respond.

For example, if I click PHONE, then i TRY to click the first contact in the recent call list, it either selects the second contact or the notification bar.

I have had a few instances recently where part of the touch screen didnt resond or it the touch was represented lower then where my finger was. I found that turning the device off and wating a few minutes, then back on fixed this.

Try to turn it off for a few minutes and see if that works. Hopefully its just a software glitch on your device and not a hardware problem.

This is a known (stupid, awkward, grounding) issue if your phone is laying flat on a non-conductive surface.

Does it do the same thing if you're holding the phone in your hand?

have you applied the update? It was pretty much aimed at this exact issue.

My screen became a LOT more responsive after the update.

What you are talking about was fixed in the 1.47 update. The op's issue sounds like it is below the notification bar unlike the original issue many people, myself included, experienced.

Like I said, I did have the original problem which was fixed in the update and I don't have the problem you are experiencing (regardless of if I lay the phone flat or hold it).

Have you done the 1.47 update?

I had the issue before the update. Since the update it has been fine.

Use the Draw! app to confirm -- load it up, draw slow, straight lines from the bottom up and see if there is any interruption in the line. Save that image, post here for us to see.

Does your notifications bar work? There was an early build issue where the first row touch sensors didn't work. As a result, my notification bar would not pull down from portrait mode. Also, touching web links, contacts, etc...in this area would not work.

I took mine back and got a new one as the update didn't fix.

There was a handful of Evo owners that reported the same issue.
