touch screen responds intermittently

Galaxy tab2 10.1 I have only had it for a few weeks, the screen will worm and then intermittantly become unresponsive. If I press the power button it will come back on but often only for a few seconds then unresponsive again. I have tried doing a soft reboot. I have tried closing all programs except the one I am using. I am not low on memory or battery life. I have set the apps to download only when I tell them to not automatically. I only have one widget. Please advise if there is anything else I can do. Thanks

Sounds like a warranty issue. Contact the place you bought it from.
