Help Touch Screen will stop working altogether, but alerts still show...

I've read about a possible grounding issue with the some screens, but I haven't read about the issue I'm having. Randomly the touchscreen will stop working... It doesn't matter what I have open it will just stop working. The system is still running, calendar alerts will pop up, and the time will still advance, but I can't do anything with the phone and have to pull the battery and force a reboot to get the screen to respond. I initially thought maybe it was an app, but this has happened with nothing running except the default apps.

Has anyone had this issue? Should this phone be exchanged for a new one? (same phone)

Do you have the phone plugged in when this happens? Have you tried turning the screen off (hitting power button) and then back on to see if the screen responds?

Yep. It happens when plugged in or unplugged. I have turned it off and on ,the screen, and then i'm stuck on the lock screen until I pull the battery. What is really annoying is that i get pupup alerts for items for on my calendar but I can do nothing.

Decided not to fool around with it and a new incredible is being shipped out. The screen has got to be defective.
