Back story: I had the first 3 iphones then my first Android phone was the Samsung Captivate. I loved that phone. The following year I got the HTC Inspire. I love this phone a lot better than the Captivate. I swore I would never go back to Touchwiz and stay with HTC Sense.

Well I've heard a lot of great things about the Note. I'm mainly interested in the screen size. I was wondering, has anyone came from Sense to Touchwiz and missed their Sense phone?

That's the only thing I'm worried about is not liking Touchwiz. It's been 2 years since I've had a Touchwiz phone so I'm sure things have changed but it's still a Touchwiz.

My first interest in android was the HTC Hero (int. version), i loved the look of sense back then, I later heard of the Dell Streak, a phone I really wanted, but I never got so I settled for my first android, that was the Captivate, best phone I ever owned. Unfortunately it was stolen, along with my gym bag and other items, anyway, I had it replaced withe the Inspire (my first Sense phone). I liked the UI, it was great, the main widget (clock/weather) never left my home screen. Now that I own the Note, touchwhiz is better, to me, I don't miss sense at all, the new TW is smoother, nicer, more custom and I love the 5x5 grid now. So i say give it a go, I'm sure you will enjoy it :D

Now that's what I was hoping to hear! Thank you. I knew I wanted the Note but just needed a nudge. LOL

Manufacturer UI overlay is not anything to base a buying decision on.

TW, Sense, et al are all replaceable (and easily) with many different alternative launchers from the Play Store, and no root or special recovery is required to install or run any of them.

If you like the changes Samsung's made to TW during your time away from Samsung phones, then great; keep the TW UI skin. If you think it's still lacking in some areas or just flat-out sucks, then throw a 3rd party UI overlay on top of it and you're good to go.

    +1 on this.

As much as I love sense and like touchwiz, neither of which will EVER decide a phone for me. Too many other launchers out there to make it he way I want.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. (no pun intended) :D I'm absolutely going to buy this phone as soon as I can.
