Transfer "contacts" from EVO to Epic Touch??

OK, guys...sort of a two part question here.

1) How do I transfer contacts from my EVO to my new ET4G? Only phonebook contacts, not facebook contacts.

2) Not sure exactly how my EVO did it, but I have all my facebook people in my phone as well. For example, if I don't have them as a seperate contact, I can still find them by typing thier name into the phone dialer. Maybe they transferred in when I logged into Facebook? I should know, but I don't.

So... Do you think the ET4G will be the same? Seperate "contacts" and "facebook contacts"

Sorry, that's pretty long winded. Basically I'm wondering if I should go to the sprint store to have them change over my contacts or if I can do it myself.

Since you have a Gmail account, your contacts should all be synced on the web. If not, make sure they are. Go into menu>settings>accounts and sync>google>sync button

Go to your Gmail account on your PC and select "Contacts" to make sure you have all of them in the cloud, so to speak.

Also, you can go to your People / contacts and then touch menu>import/export and move your contacts to your SD card.

OK, here's what threw me for a loop. I my EVO, when I click on "people" (contacts), I only see the people I've added. By the way it says "all" on the top. Most of these people were transferred by the sprint store onto the EVO from another phone. I just checked my gmail, and none of these contacts are in there....interesting.

I like how it's set up now becuase I don't have to filter through 150 facebook people when I click on contacts. I might have only 30 names in my contacts (people). I'm hoping I can keep the Samsung set up the same way. There has to be a way to do it.

My advice is to log into your Google account on the computer, and save all the contacts to your Google account how you want them. That way whenever you get a new phone in the future, its as simple as signing into your Google account on the phone, and BAM, there's your contacts :)

Are you new to Android? Gmail account saves everything. All your Apps and contacts will go back on any new Android device once you sign in with your Gmail account when setting up.

No, but honestly this EVO was my first andriod phone. Humm...I'm going to have to play around a bit. OR try and sync my contacts.

EDIT- I synced my contacts, but they are not showing up in gmail. Anyhow they are synced now to my memory card, so I'll just throw that into the new phone. I'm sure it will work.

Download Sprints Total Equipment Protection app, and it will save your contacts to Sprints server. When you get your new phone, re-download the app and sync.

Might need a reboot to get Gmail to sync up, it should sync on boot up.

Whatever Gmail account you use to set your phone up it should do it without you doing anything. It just works like that. It's like it's in the air type thing. Did you check your contacts on Gmail.com from the computer?
