Well this is a 4 year old thread, so the OP has probably done it by now. But htc supplied their own software, so no third party apps would be needed.
The simplest IMO would just be to export the phonebook, which generates a vcf file. You can read that into any contact manager you like on a computer. No cost and fully flexible.
