Transferring music from I tunes to HTC Desire S

I have just bought my first android phone HTC Desire S and i am trying to find my way round it without alot of success.

I need to transfer my music library from I Tunes to the phone but havn't got a clue what to do. Can anyone be kind enough to guide this Android virgin please

There are apps for your PC like iSyncr that work okay, but I've found them to be slow and cumbersome.

What works for me is to simply copy the music files to the SD card and then export the playlists from iTunes.

Plug in the phone and turn on USB storage. Create a folder on the SD card called "music" and copy your files there. I generally keep the iTunes scheme of music/artist/album/tracks just for organizational purposes. Then create a folder called "playlists" and export your playlists as .m3u files into that folder. When you turn off USB storage Android will scan the folders using the tags, not the file structure, and your playlist will show up in the media player.
