    Hello,

I was thinking about picking up a Dell Streak, or some other phone capable small tab.

I was wondering if I could simply transfer my SIM card from my Droid X to make it function on the Verizon network? I'm not interested in a 2 year contract.

    Thanks.

You have no SIM card on your Droid X.

However, you should be able to activate any Verizon phone on your account by dialing *228. If the ESN isn't associated with your account (on a new phone, it won't be), you'll just have to enter in account details.

    Binary Visions,

Thank you for the quick response.

Just a quick follow up. So, if I purchase any new (to me) phone or tab where I want to access my Verizon account, I simply dial the *228 and enter in the numbers as prompted, and the phone or tab will be accepted.

And, assuming the unit will work on the type of network Verizon operates, I'll be good to go?

I am so interested in a 5.3" or 7" form factor that has phone capabilities, yet with the changing environment, I'm not interested in signing a 2 year contract.

    DG
