How much free space is available out of the box?

Can any of the installed OS or Apps be uninstalled to maximize space?

I think I had about 14.3gb free out of the box.

You cant uninstall anything unless you root the tablet, then you can remove a few pre installed apps, but to be honest there aren't many on there and the one that are are actually pretty useful.

just get a large micro sd card to store music etc on and leave the internal space for apps/data.

it's just the way memory is formatted e.g. a fomatted FAT32 on a 500GB hard drive isnt really 500GB, more closer to 465GB I think...

Exactly, its easier for people to understand a 1000-1 ratio than a 1024-1 ratio. My "640" GB HDD in my laptop is really 580 something.

I still don't understand how manufacturers are allowed to promote products with such lies...

    32GB is 32GB and not 32.000.000.000 bytes...

Format type and options are what determines actual free space on the drive. In the case of the TF, don't forget the OS and pre-installed apps are also taking up some space.

32 GB version ~ 27GB of free space out of the box (android OS, apps, other stuff)

I believe the 16GB version had ~ 11GB of free space

Thanks. I did not ask the question very well.

So the OS and apps take about 5GB. That is actually more than I thought they would.

I am leaning to get the 32GB version. The built in "disk space" would probably be faster than addon microSD card "disk space".
