I have these two programs installed in my Droid X. These programs seem almost identical, and I'm trying to decide whether to keep both or get rid of one.

Based on my experience with it so far, I've made the following notes:

    RealTimeTraffic Cons / Trapster Pros:
    - RTT&SC's audio warnings are annoying - buzzer as opposed to the friendlier actual spoken word warnings in Trapster

    - RTT&SC's Buzzer goes off way too often (Cannot adjust the distance from hazard at which the buzzer will go off. Trapster allows this)

    - RTT&SC's Red Light Camera warnings goes off even when I'm on the highway. Trapster seems smart enough to know when I'm a highway and does not interrupt me about red light cameras.

    Trapster Cons:
    - Trapster seems more sluggish. (and probably more battery consuming?)

    Other notes:
    - Both seem to report the same red light cameras. Not sure about other hazards.

Has anyone else used these programs and can comment on their effectiveness, accuracy, power usage, and whatever else? (if it matters, I'm located in SF Bay Area, California)

I use trapster...not sure how efficient it is because of how many traps it allows users to input. Instead of having 5 people say there is a red light camera, it should automatically just create one input and have 5 agreements. I also don't like how long some of the traps are left up. Seems a little pointless to me since I have yet to see a trap that was ahead of me reported by anyone else. I thought it was supposed to show other trapster users scanning ahead. Maybe it does and just no one around me uses it.

I am a moderator for Trapster, I have to say I have never tried out the RTT program so it would be hard for me to compare. I will say Trapster does have an awesome layout , yes it seems sluggish at times depending on the cell signal and mapping that it has to download. I do like Trapster Google Maps vs. Navteq which Waze uses. While Waze is a neat app , it still does not compare to Trapster's alerts. It has room for improvement. Trapster is still #1 in the Speed Trap/ Red Light / Live Police, notifications in comparison to all of the other programs I have tried out.
