Hey everyone I'm new to the forums but have been using them as an information resource for a while, and now i'm hoping one of you can help me out with a little problem I have.

Background: Rooted Ally using z4, removed a lot of the useless extras using SystemApp Remover from market (yes I payed close attention to the list of apps that were ok to remove), got hung up when removing voicesearch... systemapp remover reporting "delete unsuccessful".

Now since the attempted removal, voicesearch does not show up in the list in systemapp remover, but does still show up on the home screen... the worst part of all is I get a persistent (every 5 seconds) error telling me to force close com.google.android.voicesearch because it has stopped unexpectedly.

    I have tried:
    -ignoring it
-restoring from Titanium... didn't work, somehow everything got backed up EXCEPT that.
-deleting through terminal... unsuccessfully, file/directory doesn't exist.

Does anyone know how to fix it? If so please be gentle as I am pretty new/unfamiliar with all this. The force close is so constant I can hardly use my phone :( I just wanted the crapware gone. Thanks in advance!

don't remove GTalk, either...it messes up your market.
There's a list on this website that has system apps that can and can't be removed.

Thanks everyone for helping out, i'm waiting for the DL to finish then i'm gonna see if I can do this without something going horribly awry.

NEWB QUESTION: Since I am flashing the stock rom that means that I get ALL the stock crap back right? But does this mean my phone itself (contacts, ringtones, DL'ed apps etc.) will return to stock (get erased)?

    Thanks again

yep, it's completely back to stock... no more annoying force closes.

Now I have my work cut out for me the rest of the afternoon, getting it all back to the way I had it.

    Thanks to everyone who helped.
