Help Trouble charging and mounting/syncing my Moto Droid

Ok. I have had my Moto Droid for over a year now. In the past month, I have had problems with charging my phone with USB wall charger. It will reset my phone, so I have to angle the USB just right in order for it to charge.

Also, my laptop doesn't recognize my phone any more. When I plug my phone into the USB slot/s on my laptop, my phone will either light up or reset, but won't charge or let me mount my phone so I can transfer music and pics. Also, after I plug my phone in, my wireless mouse doesn't work! I have to reset my laptop in order to use my mouse.

I was either thinking about downgrading to 2.2 or doing a hard reset. But if I reset my phone, will I lose my pictures? I have backed up all my apps, but I don't want to lose all my pictures.

What is causing this and what should I do?!

Your pictures are stored on your SD card, and won't be affected if you reset. You could also download wifi file explorer pro or one of the other free wifi file transfer programs and send the pictures from your phone to your computer, if you're really paranoid.
