I am trying to install the ADT Plugin. It is not working.
    Tried:
This is after Hello->Install New Software
    Name: ADT Plugin
    Location: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse (and common alternatives)
When I use http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse, I get no response

    When I use https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse:
    I get the resulting errors:
    Multiple problems have occurred
    org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core.ProvisionException
Unable to read repository at http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/content.xml
Unable to read repository at http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/content.xml

    Details Button:
    Unable to read repository at
    https//dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipe/content.xml.
    Unable to read repository at
    http://dl-ddl.google.com/andriod/eclipe/content.xml
    Permission denied/:connect

How do I install ADT Plugin?
I am using Java 6 instead of Java 7 per recommendation of posts elsewhere. It didn't work.

I would try downloading the SDK and ADT plugin from here and follow the steps on the site

    Android SDK | Android Developers

At least if I understand your problem correctly, you may be better off downloading everything at once instead of trying to add the ADT plugin after installing Eclipse.
