Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm still having this issue

I've had WiFi tethering for awhile now, but I have never gotten it to work properly. The problem is that I will have, say, my laptop, or any device for that matter, connected to my Droid and I am able to maintain a steady internet connection for about a minute. After that, the tethering application reports a download speed of 0.0kbps. If I disconnect my laptop (or other device) and reconnect it, it'll start to work again, but only for about another minute. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Configuration as of 11-11-10: BB v0.6, 1Ghz MV Chevy kernal.

MAYBE, it's the kernel you have on the ROM. what kernel do you have?

I've got the 1.2GHz P3 kernel with NexBeast v1.0.1. Although I noticed this problem on just about every other ROM I've used (mostly Bugless Beast).

If you can be patient, 2.2 Froyo has wireless tethering built into it. Should work flawlessly, and have more features.

True, hopefully we'll start to see some 2.2 based ROM's show up soon! :D

Okay, sorry to bring this up again, but even 6 months later I'm still having the same problem. Same results with the Android-WiFi Tether app (version 2.0.5 pre12 and all other previous versions) and I've also tried the Barnacle Tether app as well.
