Hey all on my kids samsung phone when screen was locked there was a notification that appeared to be all grey and it was a cirle with a L inside of it. What could that be?

Which version of Android is your kid's phone running?
There might be a Notification Log option in the Settings menu that might reveal more relevant information on that mystery notification. But it depends on the phone and what version of Android.
With 11, it might just be a matter of enabling it:

Or when it involves older Android versions, you can try making your own Notification Log using Widgets:

There's a preset buffer in the Notifications log so it only goes back a day or so, or less if your kids are getting a lot of Notifications.
