I downloaded the eyes-free TTS library to enable TTS/STT, but when I open the program to tweak the settings, my phone crashes. What's the solution? :(

I had the same problem. TTS freezes the phone, had to remove the battery to reboot the phone........I think TTS is not supported by Spica in Android 2.1.......

Guys, if your phone is rooted, stick this little beauty on your phone.

    Android Keyboard with VoiceSearch input

    Place it in /system/apps

Then open any app that uses the keyboard and long press on the input screen and choose input method.

Change it to the second Android Keyboard, and you'll have a Voice Input icon on the keyboard which lets you talk into your phone to enter searches.

I have no problem with TTS, installed it for spoken instructions with maps/navigation, works a treat.
