Help tune in radio app causes reboots in Gingerbread

caused my phone to shut down and reboot within minutes of launching it twice.

i really like this application. is there a way to make it work in Gingerbread?

I got the update from Verizon on the first of June.

Uninstall / reinstall fixed the issue.

Here's an interesting revival. Tune In Pro seems to shut down my phones. 2 different phones, same app, same issue. After about an hour or so, the whole phone shuts down.
Doesn't happen with any other app. Doesn't happen with free Tune In.
It's bizarre, and can't be common- too many people use the app without complaint. I tell ya, I'm bamboozled!
