Help turns off after only a few seconds

Hi my motorola droid randomly shut off today and since then hasnt been able to stay on. When I charge it and turn it on i can see that it has full battery until a few seconds later it automatically shuts off. then when i turned it back on the top of the screen says andoid system and if i try and pull down my menu or press the home button the phone just shuts off again. i have tried both a soft and hard reset and nothing seems to work. if you have any idea what to do it would be very helpful! thank you
