Tutorial CWM ACER Liquid E2 DUO

    ROOT Mandatory!

    PART I

1st STEP Locate and make a backup to a safe place of the file "install-recovery.sh" (this file is in the "etc" folder in the root of your equipment) backing up this file is important to easily revert to the original Recovery.

2nd STEP rename the file "install-recovery.sh" on your phone, (this requires root permissions on this folder, i suggest using ROOT EXPLORER to do so).

    3rd STEP Smile

I am at step 9, but the status bar is stuck at 0% and under the status bar it says:
    0 Bytes / 0 Bps | EMMC | Searching | 921600 bps | 0:00 sec |

Do you have any idea what might cause this problem and what might fix it?

    Thanks in advance!

PS: My phone was turned off when I pushed the download button, it should be right?

    Update:
It worked after I deleted the samsung drivers I still had on my pc.
    Thank you so much!!

    Hey,

Yes, the phone must be turned off!

It seems you dont have the drivers installed, have you done this? In the Drivers ZIP file, you have an executable application, that will install the drivers you need, please do this, and check if the phone is recognized by the PC.

It all seems to work properly, but when I try to wipe cache, or install a zip it just doesn't do anything and the cache is still there and the app not installed.
Are you experiencing the same problems or have you managed to wipe cache or install a zip?
Do you have any idea how this can be fixed?
    Thanks in advance!

Now the cache wipe does work and I have installed the stock android camera/gallery app succesfully. (the zip from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895)
I have one new problem though, it seems like my gyroscope isn't working, my device seems to think that it doesn't have one: see this picture
But the specs say it has one: see this specsheet.
Could you check if your gyroscope works on your acer liquid e2 (I presume you have one)? You could check with a app like Android sensor box (free): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=imoblife.androidsensorbox
    Thanks in advance!

Could it be that this script 'install-recovery' is renamed to init.goldfish.sh ?
I can't find the above mentioned script in /etc nor in/system/etc (which looks like it might be a link to or from the former)
    (Filedate is 24/08/2013)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm not able to make a copy of this file. I guess I'm not a member of the group 'root' is in. I've tried changing the permissions (which I wouldn't expect to work) on which root explorer crashed.

I tried it, but my phone doesn't keep the connection with the computer.
I'm on windows 8 and the system seemed to recognize the phone correctly, but I tried to install the W7 64-bit drivers using this workaround for the digitally signed drivers:how to install a driver that does not contain digital signature information in Windows 8?
But that didn't solve the problem of the phone disconnecting.

I know it's a little off-topic, but maybe there is some suggestions ?

I can try to help you out, but please tell me excatly what you are trying to do?

Do you want to install thge original recovery, or the original rom? or both?

Oops, I misunderstood the purpose of the tutorial, I suppose.
I've managed to get it working, so now I have CWM on my phone, but it's now stuck in a boot loop (Android, that is, I can enter recovery mode just fine).
I think I've accidentally overwritten the boot img with the cwm recovery img.
How can I fix this ?(Or where can I downlaod a system ROM for the Phone ?)

Hey, so you can try to put a costum ROM in your SD and flash it with CWM, if that doesnt work, you can reflash the original ROM, with the ACER FLASH TOOL , DOWNLOAD HERE : https://www.dropbox.com/s/gqzhcik235x373e/OS_Acer_Acer.AV061.V370.1.018.00.WW.GEN1_A42J_A.zip

NOTE: If you reflash the original ROM you will have to re-root and reflash CWM

Am I mistaken, or is this the ROM for the DUO ?

Can I find a ROM for the single sim somewhere ?
