Help TV Out Launching = No Audio

About 5 times now, I've noticed the TV Out application has launched, and I see the little TV icon up in the notification curtain. I have no idea how it opens, but when it does I have no audio. If I plug in headphones, I get audio through them. After headphone removal, there is still no audio from the external speaker. Also, I don't see any way of closing it. It sometimes closes on its own, but I usually wind up rebooting the phone.

Anyone know how to close this app and keep it from launching? Does it automatically launch when the proper cable is inserted, or do you manually launch it.

how are you using tv out. do you have a cable, if so which one.

I'm not using it. I don't have a cable either. The TV Out app just starts, and asks me which TV format (NTSC, PAL, ...) that I'd like to use. There is a little TV icon in the curtain. I can't close the app, and when it "magically" launches, I have no audio.

OK, figured out why my phone is launching TV Out. When I plug anything into the USB port, and push firmly (not hard enough to break it), the TV Out app launches. I've also found that if I remove it from the charger, then put it to sleep and wake it using the power button the sound comes back. The sound doesn't come back until I push the power button, so if I plug it in at night and the TV Out launches, I won't get any audible notifications (alarms, phone calls, emails...) until I remove the adapter and wake it up.

Anyone else want to give their USB connection a little extra push to see if this happens to them?

If you take a close look at the connector on the phone, it appears there are extra contacts way in the back, not just the 5 typical USB connectors. I'm guessing these extras may be used for TV Out.

My HTC Touch pro 2 started 2 days ago with this problem, It starts tv out, not only by connecting USB cable. It does it randomly.
At this moment my HTC is pretty useless

Is'nt there a way to shut down tv-out. I know it's possible on a Sony ericson
