Help TV out?

I know that Motorola in their infinite wisdom has decided we don't get to use the hdmi output for anything useful.
But does any other way of displaying what's on the X's screen exist?
Because even if it's just analog, I'd like the ability to see my phones screen on a monitor and/or television. For example if there was a way to use the usb output then we could turn the X into a video game system using Roms and Wii controllers.....

USB doesn't transfer a video single. USB only does data transfer.

Maybe I miss read the comment but is it my understanding that you can't take HDMI mini to HDMI to your tv and produce a picture of video on your Droid X?
