Help TV out

i was under the impression that the galaxy ace 2 had a direct tv out function.
other than the 'all share' wifi function that won't play some of the larger files like mp4 films at good resolutions.

the information seems to be a bit sketchy but i bought a micro usb to hdmi adaptor as it was so cheap.

....but it didn't work.

anyone got any ideas?

It does say on a couple of reviews that it is available, seems you have to connect phone to box, box to power and tv, then powercycle the phone with all the other stuff connected and on.

As the MHL boxes are under a tenner on Amazon, and are stated to work with the daughters phone I might just buy one to try.

Will let you know how it goes if I do.
