After much searching I have tonight FINALLY managed to take advantage of the Samsung Video hub "Free Late Night Movie" offer.
Couldn't for the life of me find out how to enter the Voucher code....or even what a "Voucher Code" was supposed to look like!
The thing that all Samsung sites and it seems their software (Kies) have in common is an unbelievable lack of intuitivity!

Anyway Just managing to download the film has been a magnificent achievement on my part!

Now I find that there is no way I can use "bubbleUPn'P" to stream it to my SONY Bravia TV.

There must be some way to do this....musn't there?
It is impossible to watch on the phone 'cos the volume even on "Max" is so low I have to try and breathe quietly otherwise it's impossible to hear!

Another mystery is where the hell it has stored the file!
I have looked in all the folders in both the internal and external SD cards and there is no sign of the movie file.

Whilst it was downloading, I managed to find the "Storage" options, and the internal card was selected, I didn't change it as half the film was already downloaded.

How can I now first, FIND the File, then MOVE it to my 64GB external card, and finally, view it on my TV???

Chances are it will be on the internel sd in the /downloads folder mate. If not try n find a folder with samsung bla bla on it
What file explorer are you using to look at files?
The tv i have no idea about unless you have a MHL-HDMI cable

Thanks for replying but as I said, I've looked in every folder in the internal storage using the "My Files" app.
it's not in any of them.
The ext SD card only has two folders at the moment, LOST.DIR and DCIM which has a few photos in it.

I did check (too late to change things) whilst the movie was downloading, and the Samsung Hub "Settings" showed "Storage" Internal and External options with the internal selected.
That led me to believe it was being written to my phone's internal memory....no evidence of it anywhere, in spite of the fact that it plays.....via Samsung Hub.

I've no idea where else I can look!

Strange man. Ive never used samsung hub tbh, i dont even have a trace of samsung software left on my phone lol. Will it let you download it again? Maybe its like hidden somewhere to prevent piracy(?)

    Beats me!
Might just phone Samsung Help for the hell of it to see if they know where their phones store their provided content...seems reasonable that they should know that.....and while I'm at it I can let them hear the stupid volume level as well!

I'd say it's an anti piracy measure, chances are Samsung only want you viewing that content on the device. I'm not 100% sure but I think Google music is the same kinda deal.

Did you look for the file AFTER it finished downloading, or during? Maybe it doesn't appear until it's finished.

I have downloaded a few movies with my free voucher code and had no problem finding the code from samsung and entering it in my account. I have noticed also the file is hidden once downloaded and could not find where it went. I have no other explanation other than maybe piracy protection. I was disapointed also to find the movies downloaded from them cannot be played on your tv using all share play like mp3s. Im stuck lioe you having to watch it on the device :-(

Don't know why but I have only been notified of the reply by NO HAND, so apologies to others for my late response!
First, an update to my last comment to funkylogik.
I did phone Samsung Helpline, but the corporate response is ..."Oh no, we don't deal with that! You will have to contact help.contact.samsung.com".
Did that, dutifully filled out the form ...and here we are 24hrs on with no response; not even an email acknowledgement!

God alone knows how Prince Charles gets on when "one's telly" goes on the blink! :p

    Palmetto Fellow:
I waited until after, found no trace of it in either internal or external memory.
I now have three films, and still there seems to be no trace of any of these files.
Over 4GB can't hide easily I would have thought! :)

I'm totally inexperienced with Android, and with smartphones come to that, so I might not be looking in the right places.

I have looked in "My Files" "sdcard0", and also "ext SD Card" and despite having chosen in Hub settings to store to ext memory for the last two films, there is only the original "LOST.DIR" folder in there, and a "DCIM" one with a few photos from my camera in it.

I have again looked through every folder in the sdcard0 memory, and still no sign!

last night I discovered that I can look at individual Apps, using Applications Manager... not that I understand what I'm looking at!
Plus, I'm scared that I might bugger something up if I poke about too much!

Someone advised me to get "es file explorer" which could apparently "move" it to the external card.
I'm a bit confused by all this as it seems that the downloaded content is stored somewhere inside the Hub app, so what do you move once you can access the place where it is stored?
Do you move the App (presumably that will take with it all the hidden downloaded content) or do you just move the downloads.... once you have found the hidden files?

And anyway, why am I able to select where to store the downloads if the App just ignores the instruction?
Seems to be a wasted few lines of code to me!

I've held off downloading "es file explorer", it seems a bit powerful for these inexperienced hands...
Likely to end up like that valet parking guy did on the news yesterday, with that beautiful Bentley! :smokingsomb:
    Nightmare!! :D

    God save me from Samasung!:stupido:
"Video Hub" has now gone stupid!
As soon as I open it, it says there is an update.... tapping "OK" opens an update for "SAMSUNG HUB"...a totally different App!

on completion, I close "SAMSUNG HUB", and try to re-open "Video Hub"...."There's an update", hitting OK..............I think you get the picture!

Phoned Sammy, they took some details, said they would get back in 24hrs, probably by Monday!!.........that's some 24hrs!
But then again, that's Samsung.

Anyone else have this trouble,....I mean with the Video Hub App, we all have the same experience with Sammy I think. :)

    Just a thought,
If this were a "fruityphone" I would be able to access the video hub equivalent via "fruitytunes", and download tonights free film offering...if there is one, is there any way I could achieve this with my PC under the Android system?

I disabled pretty much all of the Samsung Bloatware as soon as I got the phone, it's not something I entertain. The Samsung Hub will be the Samsung appstore I think which explains why it's taking you there to update.

I honestly still think it's an anti-piracy measure (the fact you can't find the file/video)

The Google Play Store and the Samsung App Store are two different entities although they may feature some of the same apps.

lol, got your post as I was in Tesco seeking help from the phone shop manager there.
I must say he is absolutely brilliant, nothing is ever too much trouble and he will spend as long as it takes to sort your problem.
I can't speak highly enough of him and his staff.
We were both watching the damned phone download and install the same update for the fourth time, when suddenly it stopped:

Then it started over, this time it didn't download the same 8.78MB update, it downloaded a much larger 58MB one!
once it had finished, the "Video Hub" was no more, it was deceased, gone!
In it's place was the new all encompassing "Samsung Hub" App.

Evidently "King Sammy" had decided to do away with Video Hub and replace it with this new multi-faceted App............pity he didn't inform his minions who masquerade under the guise of "Experts".

I remember the definition of an "expert":- It comprises two elements
"Ex".........A has been, and "Spurt" ....A drip under pressure!
Hmm! that just about sums it up!

Thanks guys for allowing me to chew off your various digital ears!
I just hope that some one close to King Sammy reads this and realises what a bunch of overpaid ineffective prats they are.

Now then, where's my joint! :smokingsomb:
    Ahh! Heaven! ;)

Now that thought tightens the old sphincter muscles!
Yeah! it has that effect on me too.
Some folks there are so laid back they're practically horizontal!
An exellent engineer and friend who opted out of the rat race to live on Arran died a few years back, I was unable to get over for the funeral but heard that he was laid to rest in a willow coffin with a bottle of Vodka under his arm and a spliff in his hand!
    Way to go!
He was the most fragrant Diesel engineer I have ever had the pleasure to strip a generator with!
    Just to clarify that statement!
My friends there were off the national grid and their genny frequently let them down, it never missed conking out at christmas!
What fun we had, once we worked 48 straight hours re-building it finally finishing in the early hours of Christmas day so that the Kids could watch Willy Wonka on the telly!!
It's dirty, hot and sweaty work, but John, bless 'im smelt like a tart's handbag from start to finish! :saint:

Never tried it but I vaguely recall the brand as a "Tonic Wine", kinda like rocket fuel! :p
Akin to a Cheeky Vimto! :D
Now that I do like, Mmm. Voka and Dubonnet 50/50.
A favorite I believe of the old Queen Mum, the mark of a lady who can take her booze. ;)

  24. You can always try downloading on a laptop and viewing with an hdmi cord connected to your tv. Just a thought. That's how I do it atleast
